Skarlatos Receives 2025 IEEE TCCA Young Computer Architect Award Thursday, July 10, 2025 SCS faculty member Dimitrios Skarlatos earned the 2025 IEEE TCCA Young Computer Architect Award for his contributions to virtual memory management and computer security.Dimitrios Skarlatos, an assistant professor in Carnegie Mellon University's Computer Science Department, earned the 2025 IEEE Technical Committee on Computer Architecture (TCCA) Young Computer Architect Award for his "contributions to virtual memory management and computer security."Presented annually by the TCCA and administered by the IEEE Computer Society, the award honors outstanding contributions in computer architecture by early career researchers who earned a Ph.D. within the past six years. Skarlatos received his Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2020 and joined Carnegie Mellon in 2021.Skarlatos's research bridges computer architecture and operating systems with a focus on performance, energy efficiency and security. His current focus is to rearchitect datacenter infrastructure from the ground up to meet the demands of the AI era by focusing on both memory and compute, tightly intertwined with security and privacy. The award was presented earlier this summer during the 2025 International Symposium on Computer Architecture in Tokyo. For more information, visit the IEEE Computer Society website. For More InformationAaron Aupperlee | 412-268-9068 | aaupperlee@cmu.edu
